Itty Bitty Basics

Size chart from the 2016 checklist

 Size

Itty clippys are around 2 inches tall. (First released in 2016)
Itty bittys are 4 inches tall.
Itty biggys are 10.5 inches tall. (First released in 2015)
Jumbos are 24 inches tall. (Normally one Jumbo is released a year)

Limited and Holiday Editions

Limited bittys are limited release or limited quantity. They are normally only available for a few months after they are released before being retired. Limited Editions are marked on the tag and normally have an extra round gold tag that says 'Limited Edition'. Holiday editions are similar in availability time, but are not officially Limited Editions.
Note: Early Limited Edition (Example Santa Mickey and Minnie Clause) didn't have the extra round gold tag yet.

Special Editions
Are much like the Limited Edition in availability. They don't have any extra gold tag, only states that they are Special Edition on the normal itty bitty tag. Some Holiday and Event ones have been listed as Special Edition, you can see this on some of the Barbies. Convention Barbie and the 2016 Holiday Barbies tags state that they are Special Editions.

Event Exclusives

Event Exclusive itty bittys are only available at a particular event or convention (such as Comic Con and the Disney Expo). They are set apart by a round label on the bottom of the bitty with the name of the event on it. It also might be stated on the tag (this varies). Usually there are around 500 made for the specific event to be sold.

Below is a comparison of a convention version and one that was released in stores. See the difference on the tags (color and says 'Special Edition') and the bottoms. Most convention styles don't have a store release counterpart like the Barbie below. For example there was not store version of Sorcerer Mickey.

Comparison pages
We have done a series of comparison posts that look at the differences between multiple versions of the same character.

Second in Series

'Second in series' means one of two things. It is either a second wave of characters to that group of itty bittys. For example the first Iron Man would be first in series but other characters in his movie, like Iron Prartiot, that were released later are second in series. The second reason would be they already released a version of the character and this is a reprint. For example Ant-Man then they released another version of Ant-man from the his second movie.

Rareness

The rarest itty bittys are probably the event exclusives since there are a limited number made and they don't come out in stores. Limited Edition can become rare because of their short run. Depending on the popularity and demand of the character some are harder to find they others. For example The Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz can be pretty hard to find.

US vs. Australia

The difference is in the tags.

US and Australia itty bittys look generally the same. The only real difference is slight and in the tag. The fronts of the tags are the same, although on US limited editions they have an extra rounds tag that is gold and says 'Limited Edition' (except Santa Mickey and Minnie Clause). The back content/barcode is shown in different directions. US it is printed across the long way of the tag, to read it you have to turn the tag sideways. It also has a small tab at the bottom that shows the price. Australia has it printed the short way across, with no price tab at the bottom.

Pictured below is a comparison of US and AUS of a Limited Edition (Pluto) and a regular (Piglet). US is on the Right side. AUS is on the left.

US vs UK

As with the US and Australian itty bittys the design is identical. There are even fewer differences between the US and UK tags. The fronts are practically the same other than the normal US price tab at the bottom. The backs are mostly the same. To tell the difference look at the bottom, the UK version has the website listed ending with '.UK'.

In the pictures the UK version is shown on the right and the UK version is on the left.
